Overture(序曲) is a music scorewriter(原著音樂) program for Windows and Macintosh platforms, written by Don Williams, the author of the popular Encore scorewriter program.

Visually, the Overture interface bears much resemblance to the Encore interface. Overture is the first scorewriter program to feature full Virtual Studio Technology (VST) hosting.

Ableton Live is a professional loop-based software music sequencer and DAW for Mac OS and Windows by Ableton. The latest major release of Live, Version 8, was released in April 2009.

In its most literal sense, a melody is a sequence of pitches and durations, while, more figuratively, the term has occasionally been extended to include successions of other musical elements such as tone color.



Melodies often consist of one or more musical phrases or motifs(主題音樂), and are usually repeated throughout a song or piece in various forms. According to The Harvard Dictionary of Music Fourth Edition edited by Don Randel, the term a cappella pertains to choral music without instrumental accompaniment. The word a cappella is derived from the word chapel, and until the 19th century, a cappella was applied only to sacred choral music. Although a cappella pertains to choral music without instrumental accompaniment, Grove Music Online states that “in 17th– and 18th- century Germany ‘Kapelle’ could mean either the singers and organist of a church, or the singers and instrumentalists of a court”.
